Achiv Privacy Policy
Last updated September 21, 2026
Achiv is a private notes app for Android: notes, to-dos, shopping lists and a password-protected Private Space. This policy explains what data the app handles and where it goes. In short: your notes stay on your phone, encrypted, and nothing is collected about you.
Data stored on your phone
Everything you write in Achiv is stored only on your device, in encrypted storage. Private Space is additionally locked with its own password. Achiv has no user accounts on our side, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.
Signing in is optional
You can use every feature of Achiv without signing in. If you choose Continue with Google, Achiv asks Google for:
- your name and email address, shown in the app so you can see which account is linked;
- access to Achiv's own hidden app folder in your Google Drive (the
drive.appdatapermission). Achiv cannot see, open or change any other file in your Drive, and the folder is not visible to other apps.
Achiv uses that folder for one thing only: saving your backup file. The backup is encrypted on your phone before it is uploaded, with a key protected by your recovery phrase, so neither Google nor we can read it. Your Google data goes directly between your phone and Google; it never passes through or is stored on any server of ours. Sign-in tokens are kept by Google Play services on your phone. Signing out in Settings → Security removes Achiv's access; the backup file stays in your Drive until you delete it (Google Drive → Settings → Manage apps).
Achiv's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell, share or use this data for advertising, and no person reads it.
Emailed backups
If you choose to email yourself a backup, Achiv hands an encrypted backup file to the email app you pick. It is sent by your own email account and cannot be read without your recovery phrase.
Weather and home backup
The weather shown on the Today screen and the optional “home” backup use the developer's private home server, reachable only on that home network. On any other network these features simply do not connect. When they do, the weather request includes only the zip code you saved (if any); backups sent there are encrypted the same way as above.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling Achiv deletes everything it stored on your phone. Google Drive backups can be removed at any time from Google Drive's “Manage apps” settings, or by revoking Achiv's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Children
Achiv is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
